The Pagosa Springs Center of the Arts presents Newsies: Jr – the story of Jack Kelly and his band of rebellious newsboys who stand up against publishing giant Joseph Pulitzer with the help of his clever female comrade, Katherine Plumber, in an epic and heartfelt conflict of David versus Goliath. Performances will be on July 15 and 16.
Newsies: Jr. will be presented by the ‘Whatchamawhozits’ summer kid’s theatre camp, an annual camp where participating kids have the opportunity to explore the world of theatre, make friends, discover creative passions, and, of course, perform in front of a full audience of family members and patrons. The camp is taught by the talented professional cast members of our summer repertory season which includes The Great American Trailer Park Musical, Jersey Boys, and Godspell 2012.
The kids have worked so hard this summer, and are incredibly excited to showcase their work and talent. Each cast of actors will be performing twice (cast A on July 15, and cast B on July 16) at 1:00pm and 3:00pm.
